Resolution/Colour Depth

Resolution

The resolution of an image is determined by the number of dots/pixels. The more of these that there are on the image the better quality the image will be for example; if I were to take a picture with a 8 megapixel camera the take the same picture with a 12 megapixel camera, the image from the 12 megapixel camera will be bigger and better, zooming in will be more possible were as if I were to try zoom in close with the 8 megapixel image it may become more blurry and hard to make out. Here is the difference in zooming in with a normal camera and a 7 megapixel camera.

Color depth

The color depth in an image is the number of pixels in the bitmap image that indicates colors and resolution. As you can see from the image the color is more noticeable and smooth in the higher megapixel camera.
